There's nothing like making over a home, and a single mother recently confessed thathard work can really pay off quickly when it comes to redecorating a bathroom. The woman, who hasn't been named, admitted she moved into a council house with her little one just three months ago, and she's been working to make it over.
Known as Hause of Beige on TikTok, where she shares her property updates, she admitted she's "extremely proud" of her DIYefforts so far. She spent the first two months decorating the bedrooms and she recently moved onto the bathroom, and it took her just five days to get it looking amazing.
It's not the first time a mum has shared bathroom decorating tips either. A few months ago, another woman explained how to save £600 when redecorating.

In the video, she admitted she wanted the initial basic, slightly tired looking bathroom to look more like a hotel-worthy offering. If you have a vision, she said she thinks it's more than possible to pull off.
During the first day of the renovation, she said she discovered a wall full of tiles behind the original wall, and this was a "blessing", as it helped to create more room. By the second day, she then managed to get a new bath in place.
Half of the bathroom was tiled by day three, and grout was added to the tiles the following day. Then, by the fifth day, the toilet and vanity unit were put in place and it looked like a totally different room.
As well as this, the shower, shower screen and taps were also installed and the transformation was amazing. By the end of the project, it's fair to say it looks a lot more like a hotel bathroom.
The tiles are modern, the shower is much more fashionable and subtle lighting behind the mirror helps the bathroom to both glow and look totally chic. It's hard not to think the room looks amazing, and most of the over 35,000 people who viewed the video seemed to agree too.
One person said: "That looks amazing. You're doing a great job in your home. It's sad to see such bitter comments."
Another added: "All in five days? Wow!" A third replied: "Oh my goodness. That is stunning. Doing my own bathroom now and that is just the colour I want."
Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: "Stunning. It's people like you who deserve council houses who love and make them into a home."
Someone else also chimed in with: "The way you're designing your home is so beautiful and so inspiring. Keep up the good work!"
The mum admitted there is still a little work to do, but most of it is done. Overall, she claimed the room didn't take long to put together.
Some people queried how she was allowed to do so much work to a council house, but there's a simple answer to this. You are able to carry out work on a council house, permitting you first get written permission from the council for most improvements.
Going forward, you will then be responsible for the costs and any future repairs. If you're thinking about doing this, you should contact your local council to get their specific approval, and to find out if the work requires planning permission or building regulations approval.
However, cosmetic changes like painting do not always require permission. If you have any concerns, contact your council for further information.
